How do our solar installs work?

Solar power is one of the world’s fastest growing sources of renewable energy and our team of experts will ensure your solar panels are installed to the highest standard, following rigorous safety, health and environmental standards.

We only use what’s known as Tier 1 manufacturers which means you’ll get the best solar panels, and we only employ highly qualified installers.

If you have any further queries about this installation process, one of our team is on hand to help.

1 - First contact

After filling out our online contact form or giving us a call, one of our customer service team will get in touch to book a survey to help you decide the best solar options for you and give you a personalised quote. The surveyor will review your property via satellite imaging before coming to visit you, allowing us to discuss the best options for you and your roof whilst on-site.

2 - Arranging your installation

If you agree to go ahead with the quote, we will discuss the best payment options for you and inform you about any available grants. We'll then get in contact to arrange installation and tell you the next steps (including when the scaffolding will be put up).

3 - Scaffolding and install mounts fitted

Once the scaffolding has been put up, giving our our installers safe access to your roof, the install mounts - which the solar panels will be attached to - are fitted and attached to the rafters.

4 - Solar panels, inverter & battery installed

When the solar panels have been secured to the frame and wired in, the inverter is installed and connected to the battery (if chosen) and the grid input. The inverter is what transforms energy from the solar panels into electricity your home can use.

5 - Connect the system to the grid

Once your solar panel installation is complete, the whole system is connected to the consumer unit which will sit in your fuse box. We'll then ensure all the cabling is neatly fitted with a black or white conduit to suit your home.

6 - Handover and ongoing support

You're all set! When your installation is complete we'll then give you training on how to manage and get the best from your system, whilst helping you set up any required apps or software. We will then handover all paperwork, including any warranties, before discussing any ongoing support you may desire - including annual servicing.

Whether your roof faces south, east or west your home is perfect to have solar photovoltaic panels installed. North facing roofs will not receive as much sunlight and therefore won’t be as efficient.

The pitch of your roof should be between 20o – 50o.

Having solar panels installed to your home is classed as a “permitted development”. You only require planning permission if you live in a listed building or area of outstanding natural beauty.

There’s currently a huge demand for our solar installations and we’re working really hard to get through them as quickly as we can.
