What is ECO4? Is it a scam?
ECO4 is a legitimate government-ran scheme. You can find more information about it here on our website, or by searching for ‘ECO4’ online.
The scheme is paid for by taxes rasied from the country’s largest energy providers, with the goal of supporting vulnerable households and reducing our homes carbon emissions – bringing us closer to net zero.
We work with some of the largest energy companies in the UK, processing applications and carrying out installations on their behalf.
I'm confused by the different schemes, what can I actually get?
We currently provide funding via few different schemes and we understand this can be confusing.
ECO4 – Through ECO4 you can get a free boiler and free insulation. You need to be on a qualifying benefit for this scheme.
GBIS – The Great British Insulation scheme has now launched, focused on delivering single insulation measures to as many people as possible. If you qualify for ECO4 then you also qualify for GBIS, but there is also a second route available for people who aren’t claiming benefits – this being if you have a council tax band of A-D then you also qualify.
LAD – Through this scheme you can get loft, underfloor, or cavity wall insulation for free. You don’t need to be on benefits for LAD, but your household needs to earn less than £31,000 per year to qualify.
WHD – This scheme offers free boiler replacements to people over 65, people with a child under 5, or people who have a medical condition.
BUS – Anyone can apply for the £5000.00 BUS voucher but it must be used towards the cost of a heat pump installation.
If you’re unsure of what you might qualify for just fill in our funding application form and the customer service team will call you to discuss your options.

How do I know if my boiler is condensing?
Nearly all modern combi boilers are condensing – if your boiler is 7 years old or less you can presume it’s condensing.
If your boiler has a white plastic pipe below it, this is the condensing pipe and your boiler is condensing.
What is an EPC? How do I check what rating I have?
Introduced in 2007, an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is a document that provides information on the energy efficiency of a building. The purpose of an EPC is to help property owners and tenants make informed decisions about energy usage and potential cost savings.
EPCs are issued after an assessment of the property’s energy performance, which takes into account factors such as the building’s construction, heating and cooling systems, and insulation. The assessment provides a rating for the property on a scale of A to G, with A being the most energy efficient and G being the least efficient.
The EPC also provides recommendations for improving the energy efficiency of the property, which can include measures such as upgrading insulation, improving heating and cooling systems, and installing energy-efficient lighting.
EPCs are typically required by law when a property is sold, rented, or constructed. They are valid for a period of 10 years and must be displayed prominently in the property.
You can check your own property online using the EPC register.
How do I top up the pressure on my boiler?
To top up the pressure in your boiler, you’ll need to follow these steps:
First, identify the filling loop valve. This is a small lever or tap usually located under the boiler or near the boiler’s pipes.
Turn off your boiler and allow it to cool down for at least 10-15 minutes.
Open the filling loop valve by turning the lever or tap so that it’s in line with the pipe. You should hear water flowing into the boiler.
Keep an eye on the pressure gauge on your boiler. The ideal pressure range should be between 1 and 1.5 bar. If the pressure is below this range, you need to add more water to the system.
Slowly open the valve on the cold water pipe until the pressure gauge reaches the ideal range. Keep an eye on the pressure gauge while you do this.
Once the pressure gauge is at the ideal range, close the filling loop valve by turning the lever or tap back to its original position.
Finally, turn on your boiler and check the pressure gauge again to ensure that the pressure is stable and remains in the ideal range.
